A：It  is a little bit hot with occasional showers in July, the average temperature is around 35 degrees centigrade. Therefore summer clothing will be sufficient. Q: What is the unit of Chinese money?
A：The monetary unit of Chinese money is Renminbi Yuan, made up of 10 jiao, or 100 fens. Notes are issued in the following amounts: 1 jiao, 2jiao, 5jiao, 1 yuan, and 2,5,10,20,50 and 100 yuans, and coins in amounts: 1fen, 5fens, 1jiao, 5jiaos and 1 yuan. The Renminbi is presented by the renminbi sign ,￥.According to the present exchange rate, 7.5253 Renminbi yuan are equivalent to  1 US dollar. Remember that renminbi is the only currency circulated in market in China. Foreign currencies are not accepted in Chinese markets; therefore, you should exchange your foreign currency to Chinese yuan before you go shopping.

Q: Which foreign currencies can be exchanged into Chinese yuan?
A： Foreign currency notes of all major currencies are accepted to exchange to each other. Most banks and hotels provide service of foreign currency exchange. Banks are usually open from 9:00am-4:30pm.

 Q: What about the transportation condition in Shanghai?
A: A public transport network in Shanghai consists of bus, taxi, metro and light railway, will be available for all the travelers to go to most of the interesting places and commercial centers.

Q: What is the electricity voltage in Shanghai?
A: The electricity in Shanghai is 220 V (50 HZ). We suggest that participants with computers, shavers, tape recorders and other appliances carry a plug adapter kit.

Q: Should I give tips for the services in restaurants in Shanghai?
A: Generally speaking, no. In restaurants in China, the service fee is usually included in the price of the food and drinks you have had. Sometimes it is listed in the menu and paid together with the bill.

Q: Where should I pay special attention to when filling out the application form?
A：To avoid mistakes, before filling in an application form, please read the “Announcement 2” carefully to understand all the requirements for accurate filling in the forms. Especially note: When you fill in the form, remember to give your name in the forms exactly the same as in the passport, because all your records will be kept under the name you have filled in the form, and it will be checked against your passport when you make registration and, possibly when you pass the cCustoms. To make our preparation work more effective, please complete application form in full as requested, any lack of necessary information may cause registration failure. Please submit your registration by the deadline March 1, 2008.

Q: What identification and materials are needed to register for the Festival?
A：To register and to obtain ID badges, all participants registered as a delegate should go to the Registration Counter with their Invitation Letters, original passports, identification of full-time students or teachers, insurance identification (travel accident insurance) and two passport photos when they arrive.

Q: Will interpretation be arranged for the forums?
A: The organizing committee will offer simultaneous interpretation service for Chinese and English for all the students and teachers when they deliver their papersspeeches on the Teachers’ and Student’s Forum. In addition, the volunteers will provide interpreter service for all the participants. 

Q: Do the participants have chances to exchange their views?
A：During the festival, organizing committee will arrange various activities, so all the delegates will have an opportunity to exchange points face to face.

Q: When should the setting-up of exhibits be completed?
A：All preparations for students’ exhibits should be completed before 10 p.m. July, 14.

Q: Are there any arrangements for early comers? Do early comers need to pay extra fee for accommodation?
A：Accommodation will be provided by the organizing committee from 14th July to 18th July,  without any charge.
